Looking for a change from the typical, chaotic indoor party, with loud music, bright lights, and stagnant air? Something a bit more unique and ... natural? Look no further!
Our Nature Playscape birthday parties offer kids the freedom to explore, imagine, and play in nature. From fort-building and nest climbing to creek splashing and bug-hunting, these parties turn birthdays into unforgettable nature-filled adventures. And new in 2026, you can choose an incredible program, led by our staff, to enhance the experience and create memories that last a lifetime!
Party Packages
Party programs are currently only available on Saturdays. Available bookings on Saturdays are 9-11 a.m., 12-2 p.m., or 3-5 p.m. Standard rentals without a program are available Tuesday-Sunday.
Rental WITH a staff-led program - $310 for Friends of the Playscape/Preserve, $350 for non-Friends
Rental WITHOUT a staff-led program - $250 (Friday - Sunday), $150 (Tuesday - Thursday)
What's included

2 hour reservation of our covered picnic area (with a 30 minute buffer before AND after for setup/cleanup)

30 minute program led by our birthday party educators! The program you select will be tailored to the ages of your group.

The birthday kid will receive a complimentary Adopt-an-Otter from our team! This includes a plush otter and official certificate of adoption.

Our staff-led birthday programs can be formatted for almost any age group. Browse the options below and select your preferred program when filling out the birthday party inquiry form.
Conestee's Ambassador Animals (such as Jack Black Rat Snake and MiSHELL the Box Turtle) will make appearances during birthday programs.
Log Rolling Romp
What’s hiding beneath a log? At this party, young explorers use microscopes and magnification tools to uncover the tiny creatures that call decaying wood home. Through guided discovery and playful games, children learn how forest floor critters find food, shelter, and moisture in the forest ecosystem. It’s a squirmy, science-filled celebration perfect for curious kids who love getting up close with nature.
Forest Forts
Future engineers and wilderness builders will work together to design and construct their own woodland forts! Party guests will learn the basics of strong foundations, smart location choices, and outdoor safety while experimenting with lean-tos, tee-pees, woven walls, and more. Using natural materials like branches, leaves, and lashing, kids will discover why both animals and people build shelters for protection and survival.
Feathers, Talons & Beaks, Oh My!
This bird-themed birthday adventure begins with a sound scavenger hunt before heading out to spot some of the 220+ bird species that visit or live in the preserve. Kids will discover what birds need to survive and even play a migration game to experience the challenges birds face. It’s a high-flying celebration for budding birders and outdoor adventurers. Binoculars will be available for all party attendees!
Mud Party
Party guests will mix, sculpt, and paint with mud while discovering how wetlands support amazing animals like herons, turtles, beavers, and otters. Through hands-on creations—like building beaver lodges, shaping bird nests, or crafting mud masterpieces—children learn how muddy habitats provide food and shelter for wildlife. It’s a sensory-rich celebration that connects creativity with the wild world right beneath their feet.

What kind of birthday party is this?
The muddy, adventurous, fresh-air kind. Birthday parties at Conestee Nature Preserve are all about kids being kids — running, exploring, building forts, splashing in the creek, and discovering bugs. No bright lights, loud music, or giant inflatables.
Is it okay if my child is… very energetic?
Perfectly okay. Actually, ideal. The Nature Playscape was made for big energy, big imaginations, and curious minds.
Will the party be structured or totally wild?
That's up to you! Parties can include free play plus a 30 minute staff-led program OR you can rent the space and build your own adventure.
What ages does this work best for?
Elementary-aged kids, but we're happy to host younger explorers and older nature-lovers as well.
What do I need to bring?
Any snacks, pizza, cake, etc that will make your party perfect. We’ll take care of the setting and fun!
What if everyone gets dirty?
That's ... likely. We recommend clothes that can get muddy and shoes that don’t mind getting wet. Mud washes off. Memories stick around.
