Looking for a fun way to spend your Friday the 13th? Join us for this kind-of creepy, but super cool insect-focused experience!
The program name says it all. If you are a budding entomologist or just a huge fan of bugs, this is the program for you! Logan Parker, local bug expert, will set up a sheet and a blacklight (UV) to attract the bugs. Ah, like a moth to a flame...uh we mean blacklight! Logan will identify what we catch and teach us all about them. By the way....did you know this method of collecting bugs is also known as sky fishing? So cool!
***Make sure to bring a flashlight for walking to and from the Shortleaf Shelter!***
WHERE
We will meet at our Fork Shoals entrance 601 Fork Shoals Rd. (D on our Map).
WHEN Please plan to arrive by 8:45 p.m. so we can walk to the shortleaf shelter together and the program can begin promptly at 9:00 p.m.
WEATHER If the weather is not cooperative, we will communicate by e-mail should we need to cancel.
CANCELLATION POLICY Cancellations must be made 3 days prior to the event for a full refund.
