Home School Days - Reedy River

Homeschool Days at Conestee Nature Preserve is open to children ages 5-11 years old. You will drop your child off with us to spend the day exploring and learning about the natural resources found at CNP.

In November we will be focusing on the Reedy River! The younger group will learn about how rivers and lakes are different and how water can change our landscape. They will get hands-on with our 6ft stream table by building a landscape and watching how the river carves a path. The older group will learn how water quality is determined through chemical and biological data collection. This group will collect water samples and look for aquatic organisms and then determine what that data means. They will also get a little history lesson about Conestee Nature Preserve to include our pollution and recovery story.

We are limiting the teaching groups to 20 students. You will provide your children's ages in the Google Registration form linked below. We will form the groups based on ages.

WHEN

Monday, November 13, 2023 - 9:30-1:00PM

WHERE

840 Mauldin Rd., Greenville, SC - We will update you with an exact meetup location the week of the event. Sometimes rain events create trails that are impassable. Make sure you look for a email update a day or two before the event.

COST

$10 for 1st child, $8 for additional children

HEALTH AND SAFETY

Please do not attend the event if you are feeling ill.

WEATHER

If the weather is not cooperative, you will be notified via email the morning of the program. The email will be sent by 8:15am so please check your email if the weather looks iffy.

CANCELLATION POLICY

Cancellations must be made 3 days prior to the event for a full refund. See above for health and weather related circumstances.
