Are you super into mushrooms? Yes? Perfect!
We have Lizza Bixby, who honed her skills at Mushroom Mountain, joining us to share her knowledge about the anatomy, ecology, and incredible uses of these fungi (also spelled fun guys, whichever you prefer)! She'll be bringing plenty of examples to show us before we go on a meander through the woods to look for them actually growing in the Preserve! But beware, and keep a close eye out for zombie fungus...it is Friday the 13th after all!
WHERE We will meet at our Fork Shoals entrance 601 Fork Shoals Rd. (D on our Map).
WHEN Please plan to arrive by 5:15 p.m. so that we can walk up to the shortleaf shelter together and the program can begin promptly at 5:30 p.m.
WEATHER If the weather is not cooperative, we will communicate by e-mail should we need to cancel.
