About the event
October is a great time for a night hike! Join us for a fun night exploring some of the more "spooky" visitors to the Preserve including bats, owls, zombie fungus, and more! This is sure to be a fun and educational look at the "night time" scene at the Preserve.
Night Hikes are our most popular recurring event throughout the year, and spots are limited. Register as soon as possible to secure your spot before tickets sell out!
WHO
Night hikes are great for a range of ages! Please keep these tips in mind when deciding whether or not this program is for you:
Children that participate MUST be able to stay quiet for extended periods of time. Staying quiet is necessary during some of our activities and provides for better observations of wildlife when we do encounter them.
Flashlights are NOT allowed during the hike so you can expect to walk in low light conditions.
We may walk a little over a mile throughout the event and there are not very many opportunities to sit down. We do stop make a lot of stops along the way though.
This hike is during October and focused on "spooky" animals but scaring participants is strictly prohibited. Our goal is to help you appreciate the night time nature scene not be scared of it!
WHERE
We will meet at the River Entrance (widely considered our main entrance) at 840 Mauldin Rd. Gather under the archway at the trailhead (A on our Map).
WHEN
Please plan to arrive by 5:45 p.m. so the program can begin promptly at 6:00 p.m.
